About Author

As the author of Assurance of Heaven, I have a passion to help people know that God loves them and that He wants them to be secure forever. My greatest joy is to be able to share the gospel with someone, since it can have eternal significance.

My education included a Bachelors Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs. I worked several years as a police officer, a school transportation director, and retired as a small business manager (My family owned a Dairy Queen). Growing up in western Pennsylvania enabled me to enjoy a lot of outdoor activities. I have served as an elder, deacon, and Bible teacher for many years. I have been married to my wife, Carol (In the photo on the left) for 43 years. God has blessed us with two sons and two daughters-in-law and seven grand kids.

One of my favorite non-fiction authors is Renald Showers. His book, The Most High God, is an excellent commentary on the book of Daniel. Recently I have also enjoyed a couple books by David Anderson on the epistles of Galatians and Ephesians.

My faith experience started when I was three years old. My mother began to take me to church, thinking that was what I needed. After a couple of years, she realized she needed it too.

At age 68, my spiritual journey in the Lord has been a long one. I’ve been a Christian now for over 55 years. It took a number of years to realize that Christianity isn’t a religion. It’s a relationship with the person of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.

When I began to understand that God accepted me in all my imperfections the moment I trusted in Christ, the weights started to fall away (Eph. 1:6). Understanding that I am secure in Christ because of what He did for us, helped me immensely to gain traction in my spiritual walk. Life is designed to be functional and purposeful when you live out of gratitude to the Lord; not because you have to but because you want to.

It is my hope that this site and the book will help you in your relationship with God, realizing how amazing His grace really is. It’s the grace of God, through the word of God, and the indwelling of the Spirit of God that can transform you after you have believed the gospel (Titus 2:11, 12; II Pet. 3:18).

Thank you for visiting my site. I invite you to read on as we go this journey of faith together.
